SPS Tutoring

In Fall 2013, the UMD SPS chapter began offering peer tutoring to all physics majors who may need help in their courses. Now, our free tutoring services are offered to any UMD student taking a physics course, regardless of major. Our tutors are available to help with both physics and math courses during the tutoring sessions. Tutoring is available on a drop-in basis from 4-6pm, Monday through Friday, via Zoom. The Zoom information is provided through the following form: https://forms.gle/oJwX2pqXD586MNJE6

In order to be a tutor, you must have completed at least PHYS171 (or an equivalent course) in the introductory physics sequence. You must have adequate knowledge to help students with introductory courses. SPS Tutoring has been a wonderful program for many years, and we plan to continue to grow our program to reach its full potential. The program allows our members to experience tutoring and teaching, helps students in need, and spreads awareness of our organization. We’d love for you to be a part of it, whether you are in need of tutoring, or you want to volunteer your time to help students in need.

All questions, concerns, or comments should be directed to the SPS Tutoring Chair, Kate Sturge, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
