Research is a primary focus for UMD's Physics Department and our SPS chapter. One of the ways we try to help our students get involved with research on campus is through our Undergraduate Research Fair.

Effective communication is a key aspect to working in physics and physics-related fields. Once students get involved with research, they need a way to be able to present their ideas to their peers and professors. To aid in this, SPS sponsors an annual Undergraduate Research Showcase.

SPS hopes to not only serve our physics students, but our community as a whole. Last year, we organized two blood drives in the Physics Department, one on Monday, September 28th 2015 for the Fall semester, and one on Monday, March 7th 2016 for the Spring semester.
